9-4-2010 Roy played in the first rated Clarksville Chess Club tournament. He placed second with 2 wins and 1 loss. He picked up an incredible 125 rating points, losing only to the tournament winner.

04-24-2010 Roy  played in the 9th Southern Class Championship this weekend. Roy book ended the tournament, winning is first and last games. In between was not so good. Final result was tie for 9th in the class E section. 34 rating points adjusted downward.

1-10-2010 Roy played in the Tennessee Winter Open. He wound up tied for 10th with two wins, two loses and one draw. Not bad.

03-28-2009 Roy played in the First Annual WKU Open. We will not talk about results of this one.

01-17-2009 Roy competed in the 2009 TN Class Championship in Nashville, winning his class! He is the 2009 Tennessee Class D chess champion! Congratulations. Roy played up every round. First 2 rounds he spotted his opponent 300 rating points, In the next two, he was over rated by 200 points, in the last round he was the underdog by 100 points. How did he do? 1503=draw!...1537=draw!...1456=draw!...1437=loss...1305=draw. To walk away with one loss against players rated that much higher, amazing!! Note also that Roy had the advantage in several of those games, but his fear of the endgame, caused him to offer the draw. He will work on that aspect of his game, then beware!! Congratulations!

2-10-2008 Roy played in the Under 1300 section of the 2008 Nashville open. He tied for 4th with 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. He gained 101 rating points moving to 1249.

1-20-2008  Competed in the Knights section of the 2008 NTWO. He tied for 8th with a score of 2 1/2 of 5. His rating went to 1148.
